Glasgow Declaration – Climate Action in Tourism

We’re proud to have been accepted as a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration which was launched at COP26 in November 2021. Its aim is to act as a catalyst for increased urgency about the need to accelerate climate action in tourism and to secure actions and commitment to support the global goals to halve emissions over the next decade and reach Net Zero emissions as soon as possible before 2050.

As a multi generation family business we recognise that Cologin’s future and our business sustainability is linked to the successful move to Net Zero. We are now starting our Green journey along the five shared pathways – Measure, Decarbonise, Regenerate, Collaborate and Finance – which all signatories must follow and we are currently working on our climate action plan.

We have also signed up with the Green Tourism scheme as the assessment process will help us create our bespoke action plan. Whilst finding the time and resource to go green is challenging it is important that we future proof our business and the planet that we all depend on.

Please keep up to date with our green journey via our social media and our website – take a look at our new page on sustainability

UPDATE: Our Green Tourism assessment has now been completed and we are delighted to have been awarded a SILVER accreditation. Our goal will be to reach GOLD and we are aware that our target is a high one but we believe it is achievable.
