Happy New Year – Welcome to 2019

Another year over – we’re now heading for our third decade at Cologin. Running a family business is always challenging but we both still love what we do and look forward to 2019 being another busy year. The winter refurbishment programme is already underway now that our Hogmanay guests are heading home and we’re delighted to have received such great feedback from the many “Cologin virgins” who will hopefully be back again next December to bring in the bells with us and welcome 2020. One of the things that keeps us going is hearing how much folk love the lodges and the Barn Bar and whilst we know we are not to everyone’s taste it’s satisfying to find that many of our guests return year after year and appreciate what we offer.

Plans for our ‘Wellness’ area are progressing and the old stone byre will be re-purposed (subject to planning permission) with a sauna, bubble pool, spa suite and some treatment rooms for our visiting masseuse.

Our eldest daughter is building a new home for herself on the ‘bonfire’ field so she’ll no doubt get plenty of first footers next year (or more realistically the year after). We’re also adding a hot tub to Cologin Farmhouse and redecorating from top to bottom so we’re as busy as ever!

We re-invest every year in repairs and renewals at Cologin and of course there’s lots of things we’d love to do to improve our accommodation, but we have to remain profitable and realistic!
