SPRING FLING!

I can’t believe it’s almost May – where have the last few months gone? Katie has overseen a great many improvements over the winter months and it’s lovely to have fresh eyes on Cologin so thanks to our daughter, things are looking good and many properties have been refurbished.

And in other news, we are delighted that Julie and Angus have made such a great start in The Barn Bar. Feedback from the Glen locals and Cologin guests has been fabulous and we’re thrilled that the pub will now be open all year round (although detailed winter opening hours have not yet been decided). Please remember to book a table directly with them as The Barn is a separate business and our booking system is NOT linked to theirs!

Email them for table reservations on:

or call them (they can also take messages on WhatsApp:

Oban is busy now and after two year’s absence the Highland and Islands Music and Dance Festival is back in town this weekend. There’s another cruise ship in port and the town walking guides are being kept busy. It’s great to see folk out and about enjoying themselves and most attractions in the area have now reopened for the summer season including the Lismore Heritage Centre (Island of Lismore) and the Atlantic Island Centre (Isle of Luing) for coffee and cake or a more substantial lunch. Both islands now have electric bike hire available and if the weather is good cycling is a great way to explore and far more environmentally friendly than taking the car.

If you are going on the Luing Ferry do remember it’s small and a turn up and go service so you might have to wait. If you travelling to Lismore the car ferry operates only from Oban and it is bookable. There’s a passenger only service from Port Appin but they can take bikes.
