Last summer we introduced the Somerset Snuffler to our bar! This Cider Hog of West Country cider proved very popular with 3 litres of 4.8% ABV cider for just over £16.  The Cider Hog can be taken back to your property (you will be asked to leave a credit card deposit so we get the Hog back) or taken out to the beer garden or up the hill to the fishing loch!  It will be back on the menu this year along with our popular Crocodile Schnapps Game! The Barn serves food all year round, but in the winter (November-March) we are (usually) only open at the weekends – from 4pm Friday to last orders Sunday night (or from Thursday to Tuesday as the nights get lighted) so do check if you are planning a winter table booking. (We are also happy to take private functions and Christmas Party bookings midweek by arrangement.) During the winter months we also offer selected SUPPER SLEEPOVER deals with accommodation in the chalets/lodges on site at Cologin for locals.

Each year we open daily from March but the specific date does vary! This year (2016) we open daily from 11am from March 21st with a late licence on Friday and Saturday night (and by arrangement). Don’t forget groups can book our HOG ROAST for a function at the Barn Bar. We can slow roast a full pig for a minimum of 50 people (plated meal) or a full pig will serve up to 100 in a bun. The hog roast can also be used to slow cook a lamb or several smaller meat joints.

We don’t impose a service charge, but we do ask large groups to recognize the extra work that these tables create for both the serving staff and the kitchen. If you are generous enough to reward them and you leave a tip it will be shared between all the staff on duty. We are a small pub and we regret we can’t take single tables of more than 10 people (unless you are eating in the covered beer garden which is boxed in for winter with its own wood burning stove!). We may also ask couples to share a table of four when table space is at a premium over Hogmanay and weekend night. During the summer, food can be served outside, but you will be asked to pay at the bar on ordering or leave your credit card to start a tab. Takeaway orders are available at 10% discount. We are members of VisitScotland’s Taste our Best Award scheme and our kitchen prides itself on using local produce where possible.
