Accommodation Oban

General Accommodation Information

If you’ve just got married or just retired, have toddlers in tow or dogs you can’t bear to leave at home, or you just want to get away for a break with all the freedom of a self catering holiday then we should have just what you’re looking for.

And you’ll get a good night’s sleep wherever you stay at Cologin.
One of the most appealing features of our park is its peace and tranquillity. We have ‘dark sky status‘ so you can always see the stars at night. (If you are not used to the dark it would be sensible to bring a torch with you!)

Whether you choose the cosy one bedroom Outer Hebridean chalet or the spacious two bedroom Inner Hebridean lodge or one of our private houses you will be warm and comfortable.

We have 15 two bedroom lodges, 4 one bedroom chalets, Cruachan Cottage and Cologin Farmhouse – all of which have free wi-fi access. Some of our lodges welcome pets, some are pet free all year and we have two lodges that are designed for assisted wheelchair access. Cruachan and Cologin Farmhouse let from Friday to Friday and the lodges and chalets generally let from Saturday for a weekly let, but are also available for short breaks all year round.

Just click on the links on the left hand side of this page or search by number of bedrooms on the right hand side for full details of individual properties.

All our properties have efficient heating* in every room and the hot water and fridge will be on for your arrival. Bed linen and towels are provided as standard in all properties and extra towels and bed linen can be hired for sofa beds if you need extra bed space – please note we don’t recommend their use for a full week’s holiday but a sofa bed is fine for a couple of nights! (Please remember to select extra bed linen for sofa bed/s when booking online.) NOT ALL LODGES HAVE SOFA BEDS – they must be requested on booking so we can allocate an appropriate unit.

Barbeques are available on request (provide your own charcoal), cots and high chairs are free of charge and if you finish your holiday reading feel free to swap it for another book from our collection.

Special Offers are available at certain times of the year – if there are none in the Offers section then do call us to check when the next offer is running as we may be able to do something just for you!

Pond at CologinAs Cologin is on a private water supply we unfortunately do not have sufficient water pressure to run dishwashers and washing machines in every property, but our central laundrette has both washing machines and dryers (operated by pound coins) and in addition there are extra facilities for divers, cyclists and walkers, including dehumidifiers, under-cover storage areas and cold water wash for boats, etc.

Our lovely fresh, peaty spring water passes through a comprehensive water filtration system which includes UV lights. Argyll and Bute council take random water samples and enthusiastically enforce the EU zero contamination status for ‘commercial’ property. (They don’t test domestic houses on private supplies unless they are rented out.) Our water is safe to drink, but we would always recommend boiling drinking water for babies and anyone with a compromised immunity system – better safe than sorry.

We are members of the Association of Scotland’s Self Caterers and have signed up to their Quality scheme. Our pub on site – The Barn Bar – is a member of VisitScotland’s Taste our Best quality scheme. We are also founding members of OLTA (www.oban.org.uk).
